THE MINI ROCKSTAR IN-HOME CUT (FOR SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS) 🎸
A calm, fun, age-appropriate haircut experience — done at home — for kids who don't do well in typical salons.
This is for families who are tired of "just get through it," tired of tears, tired of sensory overload, tired of feeling judged… and ready for something better.
Dark Side Hair Studio was built for high-pressure environments where the standard is "dialed in no matter what." Now we're bringing that same level of care, patience, and professionalism to a niche that almost nobody serves well:
Special needs kids deserve to feel cool too.
And when your kid looks in the mirror and sees a mini rockstar staring back?
That's not vanity. That's confidence. That's dignity. That's momentum.

WHY THIS EXISTS
WHO THIS IS FOR
This is for you if:
You have a child who:
- struggles with haircuts in a salon environment
- is sensitive to sound, touch, water, combing, clippers, or capes
- has a hard time sitting still, being touched, or tolerating unfamiliar routines
- needs extra patience, extra time, and a stylist who doesn't take it personally
- deserves a haircut that looks "normal-cool," not "we did our best"
And you want:
- a stylist who stays calm under pressure
- a plan that respects your child's needs
- a haircut experience that doesn't feel like a fight
MEET SEAN (THE "THIS IS TOTALLY FINE" GUY)
THE EXPERIENCE (WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS)
Here's how we turn "haircut day" from chaos into a win.
Step 1: Quick Parent Intake (2 minutes, zero fluff)
You tell us:
- your child's age and what usually goes wrong during haircuts
- sensory triggers (sound, touch, water, clipper vibration, etc.)
- what helps (favorite show, snack, fidget, breaks, specific phrases, etc.)
- haircut goals (simple, short, longer, specific style)
Step 2: The Plan (built for your kid, not the average kid)
We agree on:
- the best time of day for your child
- the setup (kitchen chair, couch, floor, booster, whatever works)
- the pace (fast and clean vs slow and step-by-step)
- the "finish line" (full haircut, partial today + finish next time, or "just clean up")
Step 3: In-Home Cut (comfort-first, but still cool)
Sean arrives with professional tools and a calm, structured approach:
- he shows tools before using them (no surprises)
- he works in short sets with breaks as needed
- he keeps it age-appropriate and fun
- he adapts in real time without frustration
Your child is allowed to:
- stand, sit, move, pause
- take breaks
- say "no" to parts that are too much
- warm up slowly
We're not here to force compliance. We're here to build trust and get results.
Step 4: The Rockstar Finish + Simple Home Notes
You get:
- a clean, blended, confidence-boosting result
- quick guidance for parents (if there are cowlicks, growth patterns, or sensory-friendly upkeep tips)
- an optional plan for next time (because the second visit is usually where the magic gets easier)
WHAT YOU GET
Every in-home appointment includes:
- travel to your home (within the service area)
- a short parent intake + sensory-aware plan
- an age-appropriate "mini rockstar" haircut tailored to your child's preferences and tolerance
- blending and detail work so it looks intentional (not rushed)
- clean-up basics (we come prepared to keep the mess controlled)
Optional add-ons (if helpful):
- sibling cuts (same visit)
- "slow start" first appointment (extra time for kids who need more warm-up)
- recurring cadence (so haircuts become predictable and easier over time)

FAQ
Do you only do this for special needs kids?
This offer is specifically designed for kids who need a sensory-aware, flexible approach. If your child does great in a regular salon, awesome. If not, you're exactly who this is for.
What ages do you work with?
Toddlers through teens. Sean keeps the tone age-appropriate — no babying older kids, no awkwardness with teens.
What should we do to prepare?
Pick a comfortable spot, have a preferred show/music ready, and keep any comfort items nearby (fidget, snack, weighted blanket, etc.). If your child has a "best time of day," we schedule around that.
Do we need to restrain our child?
No. We don't operate like that. We operate on trust, pacing, and flexibility.
What if my child only tolerates part of a haircut?
That's normal. We'll prioritize what matters most (clean neckline, around ears, bangs, etc.) and build up tolerance over time.
Where do you offer in-home cuts?
Twin Cities area (you can specify exact radius/neighborhoods here). Weekly route slots are limited.
Do you do "cool" styles or just basic trims?
Cool is the point. Fades, texture, modern shapes, longer styles that sit right — all tailored to what your child can tolerate and what they actually want.
READY TO MAKE HAIRCUTS A WIN?
If you've been dreading haircut day, let's change the entire game.
